These paragraphys are my four ideas which talks about the
constitution. The Preamble is the most signal important part of the
constitution, because it announces the point of the entire enterprise. The
Undemocratic elements in the Framers' constitution contain some issues
involving slavery. The Democratic changes to the Framers' constitution
Amendments. Traped inside the Article V cage talks about the constitution and
that the Framers had no idea that they created a perfect document.
Traped inside the
Article V cage. Dahl Levingston is the author. It was posted in London ,England
in 2006, and Dahl Levingston is the source.
The Undemocratic elements in Framers' constitution contain
some issues. Slavery and most delegates from the five southern states were
adamantly opposed to any constitutional provision that might endanger the
institution, but other delegates from the seven states didn't care much for
slavery. Some delegates signed the final document abhorred slavery, they
nevertheless accepted its continuation as the price of a stronger federal
government. This happened after other
delegates wanted a federal constitution. Representation was also another issue
to settle.It couldn't be settle without a one -
sided compromise resulted from the adamant refusal of the delegates from
the small states to accept any constitution that did not provide for equal
representation in the senate.
The Democratic
changes to the Framers' constitution: Amendments. The Democratic
revolution fitful and uncertain though
it would forever remain, not only helped to democratize the formal constitution
itself by amendments, it genorated new democratic political institutions and practices within which the constitutional system would
operate. The constitutional system that has emerged is no longer that of the
Framers, nor is it one they had intended to create. To be sure the first ten
amendments to the constitution ( the Bill of Rights) cannot be attributed to
the democratic revolution that followed the convention. They resulted instead
from demands within the convention itself by delegates who generally favoride a
more democratic system than their colleagues then accept. James Madison drafted
ten Amendments that were ratified by eleven states. The Bill of Rights was a
part of the original constitution.
The Preamble is the
most single important part of the constitution. Because it announces the point
of the entire enterprise. The 4,500 or so words that followed in the Preamble
in the original, unamended constitution were all in effect merely means that were thought to be useful to achieving
the great aims set out above. It is impossible for us today to imagine how its
authors squared a commitment to the Blessings of Liberty with the toleration
and support of Chattel slavery that is presented in various articles of the
constitution. Some people might say that the Preamble is incomplete because it
lacks a commitment to the nation of equality.
